How can I join PEL?

You can get involved in a myriad of ways, such as coming out to our large and small group events, writing for The Diagnostic, and applying for a position on our Executive Board.

DO I EARN CREDIT FOR PARTICIPATING IN PEL?

Sidney Kimmel Medical College students can earn credit for their participation in PEL through various levels of recognition on their Dean's Letter to residency programs. 6 credits in one year will earn you recognition as a Member on your Dean's Letter. Completing another 6 credits in a different year will earn you the rank of Fellow. Completing the program in 3 different years will earn you the rank of Fellow With Distinction.

How Do I Earn Credits?

You earn 1 credit per large group event, 1 credit per small group event, 1 credit for writing an article to be posted on The Diagnostic, and an additional 1 credit if your article is successfully published.

What Is The PEL Executive Board?

This is a group of medical students who have come together to help fill a gap in medical education. To meet this gap, we work to bring in speakers and organize events surrounding topics such as healthcare economics, health policy, law and medicine, and patient experience.

How do I apply for the PEL Executive Board?

The applications will be released on Thursday, October 20, 2016. Interested students in the Sidney Kimmel Medical College Class of 2020 should apply online for Exec Board positions by November 6, 2016 at 6:00 pm.
